The new "Canada Line" in Vancouver, British Columbia has been equipped with French firm Thales' Communications-Based Train Control solution.
Using Thales' SelTrac system, the 19.2km Vancouver-Richmond rail line is running at 99% availability, the company said.
The rail line, which opened in August this year, is the third line in rail operator TransLink's SkyTrain network and is expected to cater to nearly 100,000 passengers daily by 2010 and 142,000 by 2021.
The new line has made Vancouver the first Canadian city to provide rail service from downtown to the national airport via a fork of the line at Bridgeport station.
The line was built by InTransitBC, a joint venture company partly owned by SNC Lavalin.
