The city of Brussels in Belgium has shipped two Bombardier-built Flexity trams to the Canadian city of Vancouver, to be used during the 2010 Winter Games.
The 32m long vehicles will operate on the renovated 1.8km rail line along False Creek, which has been refurbished at a cost of nearly $9m.
The vehicles will provide free passenger service between the Olympic and Paralympic Village and Granville Island from January to March 2010.
Bombardier will operate the vehicles throughout the week, 18 hours a day at six to seven-minute intervals.
The vehicles are expected to arrive in Vancouver in early December 2009.
Bombardier and the City of Vancouver are co-sponsors of the Olympic Line project.
