28 September 2009

Singapore's Land Transport Authority has awarded two civil contracts totalling $476m (S$670.74m) to Austrian company Alpine Holdings for its under-construction Downtown Line Stage 2 (DTL2).

The contracts, which are for the design and build of stations and tunnels, form the last two of the ten major contracts awarded for the 16.6km rail line.

The first S$320.7m contract is for Sixth Avenue and King Albert Park stations and the second S$350.04m contract is for Tan Kah Kee Station.

Work on the stations is expected to begin in 2010.
