Upgraded Section Opens on NSW Pacific Highway

25 September 2009

A new 7.5km section of the ongoing $262m Pacific Highway upgrade in New South Wales in Australia has opened to traffic.

The four-lane Bulahdelah-Nerong section stretches from Grey Gum Gully to 3km south of Bulahdelah.

Work included construction of four fauna crossings.

The total highway upgrade project is expected to be completed in mid-October and also includes seven new twin bridges and rest areas on the northbound carriageway at Nerong Waterholes and the southbound carriageway at Browns Flat.

Once finished, the upgraded highway will link the existing roads in the area including Viney Creek Road West, Viney Creek Road East, Whimbrel Drive and Myall River Road.
