Alstom Selects SteelEye's Software System for Beijing Metro

23 September 2009

US company SteelEye Technology is to provide French firm Alstom with software solution for its maintenance system for China's Beijing Metro Line 2.

The solution, LifeKeeper for Linux, will monitor and manage Alstom's maintenance services 24/7 and automatically detect and rectify faults.

The solution is aimed at ensuring continuous availability of Alstom's system in cases of unanticipated system failures or during planned downtime for maintenance or upgrades, with a maximum downtime of only two minutes.

SteelEye claims the solution will help Alstom's system reach a 99.995% uptime rate for business-critical maintenance applications.

The solution will also enable fault diagnostics to be sent remotely to operators, avoiding the need for Alstom's team to ask operators to proactively check each deployed server individually.
