UK rail operator National Express East Anglia (NXEA) is set to face strikes once again after the drivers' union Aslef rejected the pay deal offered during August's peace talks.
as a result the union has now declared a week-long strike from 21–26 September.
This comes after a series of strikes in August over pay and conditions by the RMT, TSSA and ASLEF unions, which resulted in only 5% of the services running between destinations such as London and Essex, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
The strike was then suspended after a new deal was offered but the union now says its 800 members have rejected the pay deal.
NXEA runs trains from Norwich, Colchester, Chelmsford, Stansted Airport and Southend into London Liverpool Street in the capital's Square Mile and caters to nearly 2 million people per week.
