Alstom and Dalkia Win Dublin Light Rail Infrastructure Contract

04 September 2009

Ireland's state-owned Railway Procurement Agency (RPA) has awarded a €30m maintenance contract to partners Alstom and Dalkia for Dublin's light rail system.

Alstom and Dalkia have conducted maintenance work on the line since it opened in 2004.

The five-year deal, with an option for a further five-year extension, will take effect starting from October 2009.

Over the contract period, the rail network will be extended to 36-twin km which is a 50% increase from the current length.

Alstom's supply of Citadis trams to RPA will also increase to 66 from the current 26 by 2010.

Alstom's share in the new deal is €24m.
