Veolia Transportation Wins US Rail Contract

French company Veolia Transportation is to carry out the light rail expansion project in the city of Houston, US.

The company, under a joint venture with US firm Parsons called Houston Operation and Maintenance LLC (HOM), will assist in planning, designing and integrating the rail system and maintenance facilities for the project.

Once the line becomes operational the joint venture will take care of maintenance of the line's four corridors spanning 20 miles of light rail, 32 stations, storage and inspection facilities, right-of-way and systems maintenance and dispatch.

Rolling stock of 103 light rail, 100% low-floor vehicles is also included in the contract.
