Work has begun on the $23m CP railway grade separation project on Howard Avenue in the Canadian city of Windsor.
The work involves the demolition of buildings, utility relocation, detour improvements and construction of a rail detour road.
The Dayus Roofing and Bedroom Depot buildings will be demolished to make room for a detour road between Eugenie Street and Essex Terminal Railway west of Howard.
The work is expected to be complete in 16 months.
The funds for the project come from $300m planned by federal and provincial governments to be invested in traffic improvements in Windsor.
