John Laing Wins 20-Year UK Rail Station Contract

23 July 2009

The UK county of Warwickshire has awarded infrastructure company John Laing a 20-year contract for the proposed Kenilworth railway station on the Coventry-Royal Leamington Spa rail line.

The company will design, build, finance and operate the project.

To begin with, the company will develop the project's concept to be submitted to the County Council for approval.

The Kenilworth station has been identified as one of seven sites to have new park-and-ride facilities by The Association of Train Operating Companies.

The project is supported by rail operators Network Rail and Arriva Cross Country and forms part of the ВЈ12.4m NUCKLE1 project to upgrade the Nuneaton-Coventry rail line.
