All National Rail Enquiries to go Through India in Cost-Cutting Effort

21 July 2009

The Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC) in the UK has decided that all calls to its National Rail Enquiries service will be taken by call centres in India.

The move is a cost-cutting effort by ATOC as telephone rail enquiries have fallen over the years due to internet facilities gaining preference.

Indian firm IGS will provide ATOC with this service. The change is expected to go into effect in December 2009.
