Tognum to Supply Rail Engines to Bombardier and Siemens

German firm Tognum has won two contracts from Siemens and Bombardier to supply 113 Model 16V 4000 R43 rail engines for France's SNCF railways.

Under the first contract with Siemens, the company will supply 68 rail engines to be installed in Type BB 475000 diesel-electric freight locomotives jointly developed by Siemens and Alstom Transport.

Under the second contract with Bombardier Transportation, the company will supply 45 vehicles to be installed in TRAXX F 140 DE diesel-electric locomotives.

The vehicles will be used as freight locomotives on SNCF's French-German cross-border rail network in 2010.
