China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Company (CSR) will manufacture and supply 400 "Harmony" high-power AC transmission six-axis electric locomotives to the Ministry of Railways.
The locomotives, which will be deployed on the country's trunk railway heavy duty transportation network, will have 7.2MW of power and are capable of achieving a speed of 120km/h and can haul trains weighing up to 5,500t.
The value of the contract has not been disclosed.
