Thailand's capital Bangkok has awarded a 36bn baht ($1.1bn) contract to a group led by Thailand's Power Line Engineering and Ascon Construction to build maintenance and parking facilities for the last section of the city's mass transit project.
The 'purple line' of the mass transit project will stretch from Bang Sue in northern Bangkok to Bang Yai in the neighbouring province of Nonthaburi, completing the total project to make a 23km elevated train to connect outlying communities to the capital.
The group won the contract by putting in the lowest bid of 6.39bn baht ($190m).
