MARTA Gets $25m in Stimulus Funds

12 June 2009

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) in Georgia, US, is set to get $25m of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act stimulus funds.

The funds will help MARTA address its budget deficit and avoid making drastic service cuts.

This one-time funding should help the agency keep afloat next year.

MARTA’s fiscal year 2010 begins on 1 July.
