Electronics and systems group Thales has been awarded a contract by Spain's Bilbao Metro for designing, implementing and maintaining its remote monitoring and maintenance solution.
The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) solution will provide Bilbao Metro with an integrated supervision and control system to centralise the operations of its four existing remote command centres.
It will also provide train traffic management and the control of electro-mechanical facilities at stations, as well as passenger communication and security.
The SCADA solution allows the Metro remote control over any equipment from a single operating post.
