In an effort to ease the woes of passengers affected by unwarranted rail line closures, transport users watchdog Passenger Focus may soon be entrusted with the right to appeal against any such issues.
According to the UK Department for Transport, Passenger Focus will plan major engineering works to avoid traffic on roadways and can object to or discuss unnecessary line closures with Network Rail on the behalf of passengers, reports The BBC website.
One of the main problems faced by passengers is travelling on bank holidays as widespread engineering works lead to delays, diversions and disruption.
