26 May 2009

Netherlands-based ProRail has awarded a €170m contract to The Hanza Rail Team consortium for the construction of a 50km-long new railway line, the Hanzelijn connecting Lelystad and Zwolle.

The consortium consists of Alstom with €27m as contract share and its Dutch partners Volker Rail, Strukton Rail and Arcadis.

Alstom will install its ATB system and Atlas control and signalling system on a new line that is compatible with the ERTMS Level 2 standards.

Atlas reduces the speed and the capacity of the trains with complete safety.

Alstm has also been awarded a 15-year maintenance contract for the signalling system.
