Tenders Called for California Rail Bridge

06 May 2009

The Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA) has called for engineering tenders for the environmental and groundwork for a new two-track rail bridge crossing the Cerritos Channel in Long Beach, California.

The $155m project aims to either upgrade or replace the Badger Avenue Bridge connecting north and south of Terminal Island and reduce the structure’s height to meet current seismic standards.

Once the project is complete rail access to the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles - the two sides of Terminal Island - will improve.

ACTA will accept tenders and qualification statements until 10 June.
