Royals to Travel Re-Opened Line

11 June 2008

The Prince of Wales and Camilla are to travel along a heritage railway line in the UK damaged in floods last summer to celebrate its reopening.

The 16-mile Severn Valley Railway, which runs through Worcestershire and Shropshire, suffered major damage during heavy rainfall and remained closed until March.

More than ВЈ2.5m was needed to repair the tourist attraction, parts of which were covered by land that had slipped, the Press Association reported.

The couple will take the royal train, pulled by steam engine, from Kidderminster, Worcestershire, to Bridgnorth in Shropshire, stopping off at various stations on the way.
