Belgian Rail Strike Hits Eurostar Services

20 May 2008

A 24-hour strike by Belgian rail workers has led to international high-speed Eurostar services between London and Brussels being cancelled today.

Stations across the country were empty as commuters were forced to find alternative routes to work.

The Belgian Government has estimated the cost to the economy could reach ВЈ30m in lost business.
