Two new railway stations linking Moscow's airports are to be built within the next 12 years, writes The Moscow News.
Speaking at a press conference, head of the Giprotrans Institute Fyodor Pekhterev said the new stations will allow passengers easy access from the city centre to airports.
One of the new stations will be built at the existing transport complex Ploshchad Tryokh Vokzalov - currently home to Leningradsky, Yaroslavsky and Kazansky Stations.
The fourth station is set to provide a high-speed link between the capital and St Petersburg, writes the newspaper.
The second station is planned for Ilicha Ploshchad, which is expected to reduce current high passenger volumes.
High-speed trains to the south will also depart from the new station, reducing the Moscow-Adler travel time from 25 to 15 hours.
The third station is planned as part of the Moscow City complex currently under development near Mezhdunarodnaya metro, due to be built after 2020.
The complex is expected to provide high-speed routes to Nizhny Novgorod, St Petersburg and all major airports.
