Swiss Rail Goes Wireless

01 April 2008

Swiss communications company Swisscom is to equip Swiss Federal Railways passenger trains with wireless base stations.

The technology will be installed on 75 first-class train carriages to allow passengers to connect more easily to the internet while travelling, says the company.

Swiss Federal Railways operates high-speed intercity trains between Swiss cities including Geneva, Zurich and Bern.
