Passenger transport group National Express says profits for its UK rail divisions have increased close to 30 percent, following a boost in passenger numbers.
National Express runs the Gatwick Express, Midland Mainline and London commuter services c2c and One, as well as bus services in the UK and services in the US and Spain.
Profit from the UK rail division increased to £63.3m, following passenger growth of six percent.
Chairman David Ross says environmental concerns are fuelling passenger growth.
Overall profit for the group rose 11 percent to £205.6m.
