Alstom Wins €650m Italian Contract

18 January 2008

Alstom has won a €650m deal to supply 25 trains to Italian railway operator Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori (NTV).

The high-speed AGV trains, which reach speeds of 300km/h, are expected to start service in 2011.

The contract follows the Italian Transport Ministry's agreement to award NTV a Railway Company licence to operate passenger services.
