UK Rail Workers Get Pay Increase

10 January 2008

More than 250 workers on London's Docklands Light Railway, which serves London's financial hub, will receive an inflation busting 5.1 percent pay increase.

The UK's largest rail union, the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT), negotiated the deal last year as part of a three-year agreement.

The news follows last year's 4.8 percent rise awarded to 15,000 Network Rail infrastructure workers.
