French Rail Strike Eases

France's eight-day transport strike eased off today with two thirds of rail workers returing to work

French union leaders have told the French media that there are fresh hopes to reach a resolution on the escalating debate on pensions and reforms.

Meanwhile, French police are investigating arson attacks on the TGV network after arsonists damaged more than 18 miles of track by burning cabling on the eastern TGV line.
