The ВЈ5.7bn Channel Tunnel Rail Link, now known as High Speed 1, will be sold in 2009 under UK Government plans.
The auction of Britain's only high-speed rail line is expected to be sold to private investors or British rail and infrastructure company Network Rail.
Last week, high-speed rail services were launched from St. Pancras International in London.
