QR Launches New Frieght Service

Australian rail company Queensland Rail (QR) plans to launch rail freight services between Melbourne and Perth next month.

The company says it wants to provide its customers with a competitive service on the popular east-west corridor.

QR currently operates services between Cairns and Adelaide.

Australia's east to west rail freight market is believed to be worth in the region of US$357m.
