French Rail Unions Call For Strike

09 October 2007

French rail company SNCF's trade unions have called for an open-ended strike next week in response to planned government reforms of pensions and employment schemes.

Unions Sud-Rail, FGAAC and FO have called for the strike while other major French unions have demanded a 24-hour strike instead.

No agreement has been reached so far, according to French and US reports.
