US Harsco Provide Support to Far East

20 September 2007

US-based industrial services company Harsco Corporation is to provide rail grinder units for Japan and Singapore railways in a $12m deal.

The orders include two ten-stone units for Japan and one 16-stone grinding head for Singapore to support ongoing railway and transit track maintenance systems.

The rail grinders are used to re-profile railhead contours which Harsco says can reduce railway fuel consumption, operating costs and noise.
