New Connection for Bangkok Airport

11 September 2007

A new fleet of express trains which will transport passengers to Thailand's new Suvarnabhumi Airport, have been dispatched.

The first two of nine new express trains, capable of travelling at speeds of up to 160km/h have been manufactured by German based transportation company Siemens.

Siemens is part of a consortium building the 25.7km-long express link between downtown Bangkok and the airport, which will include five 3-car multiple units for the City Line.

The last consignment of nine trains are expected to arrive at Thailand's Airport Rail Link in December this year.
