Shanghai Deal Boosts Metro

Shanghai is to receive over two hundred new carriages for the city's Metro system in a €210m contract with French transportation giant Alstom.

Working with Chinese partner Puzhen, the company will supply 246 metro cars to boost Shanghai's Mass Transit Line 10.

Alstom will supply the traction system, auxiliary power supply kits, train control and monitoring system and all associated technical services by the end of 2010.
