Australian-based train operator Stagecoach has announced increased trade, despite the disruption to its UK operations from recent flooding.
The group, which operates South West Trains in the UK, said profits rose 15% in the twelve weeks leading up to July 21 and that first-quarter financial performance was boosted by "stronger than anticipated revenue growth".
The news comes after the group lost out last week to National Express in a bid to replace GNER as the operator of the East coast route between London and Scotland.
