Schwarzenegger Urged Not to Cut California Rail Fund

23 August 2007

US politicians are urging Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger to support a high-speed rail project and maintain its funding, according to US news reports.

The governor is due to cut $700m from the new state budget but two Democrats have urged him to stand by the 700-mile rail system by maintaining support and funding.

State politicians are concerned Schwarzenegger may veto the money before he signs the budget into law.
