UK Rail Station Gets Revamp for City Birthday

17 August 2007

Liverpool Lime Street railway station in the UK will get a £2m revamp as part of the city's 800th birthday celebrations.

Funded by transport organisation Merseytravel, the makeover includes new flooring to the south concourse of the station, larger data screens and a relocated taxi rank.

The revamp follows a passenger survey conducted last year, where only half the passengers questioned were satisfied with the overall environment of the station.
