Russia to Construct Rail Oil Terminal

03 July 2007

Russian Railways is investing US$8m to build Russia's largest rail oil terminal as part of a Siberian pipeline project.

The terminal at the Skovorodino station of the Trans-Baikal railways is part of the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) oil pipeline stretching from Siberia to Russia's Far East. Oil from the pipe will be reloaded onto railway tanks for delivery to Kozmino Bay on Russia's Pacific Coast as part of the project.

The construction of the railway oil terminal is planned to coincide with the modernisation of the Skovorodino Railway Station in 2008.
