NJ Transit Selects US Firm for Rail Control System

The New Jersey Transit has awarded a contract to Carlyle Group company ARINC to provide a central control system for its Newark Light Rail operations in the US.

ARINC will design and install an integrated light rail central control system based on the company's Advanced Information Management (AIM) rail control software platform.

The AIM system will provide New Jersey Transit with a scalable offering for its centralised rail operations.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Newark Light Rail system provides more than 21,000 passenger trips on 460 scheduled trains daily, serving 17 stations in the City of Newark, New Jersey and the surrounding communities.
