Ansaldo has secured two contracts for US-based cab signalling projects, worth about $18m.
One contract involves offering cab signalling to the 100 multilevel vehicles to be supplied by Bombardier Transportation to New Jersey Transit.
The other contract with Kawasaki Railcar is to supply cab signalling for 364 vehicles, which will be supplied to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.
Ansaldo's contract with Kawasaki Railcar covers the base and available options for extra cab sets.
The systems are based on Ansaldo's MicroCab cab signalling system, which will provide customers with a complete Automatic Train Control (ATC) system.
The ATC system is comprised of Automatic Train Supervision, Automatic Train Protection and Automatic Train Operation.
