Stadler Receives Swiss Train Orders

27 January 2011

Swiss public transport company Regional Transport Berne-Solothurn has signed a CHF64m ($66.9m) contract with Stadler Rail for the supply of eight low-floor NExT emus.

The additional trains will operate along the Bern-Soloturn route from 2013 and will replace the older fleet.

The NExT trains are air-conditioned, have large windows, 154 seats with 289 standing places, CCTV and emergency services, and can run at a maximum speed of 120km/h.

RBS had deployed the first six NExT emus supplied by Stadler Rail in 2009.
