Faiveley Transport Wins Bombardier Equipment Supply Contract

Faiveley Transport has received a contract from Bombardier Transport North America to supply in-train equipment for 182 trams for the Metrolinx rail project in Toronto, Canada.

Faiveley Transport will supply cab and saloon air conditioning units, pantographs, access doors and a hydraulic brake system.

The cars, from the new Light Rail Vehicle platform developed by Bombardier Transport, are being manufactured in Thunder Bay, Ontario, while the Faiveley systems that will be used to equip the trams will be manufactured in North America.

Deliveries will begin in mid-2011, and the contract will last for five years.
