The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved a loan of €600m ($786.42m) for the construction of an underground railway line in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Citybanan project includes a 6km commuter train tunnel under central Stockholm, with two new underground stations and a railway bridge.
EIB noted that about 324,000 passengers a day will board Citybanan trains by 2019.
Citybanan is an EU priority trans-European transport network project and is part of the Nordic triangle scheme to upgrade road, rail and maritime infrastructure in Finland and Sweden.
