PCL Construction Services has received a $43m contract for the construction of an operation and maintenance facility for the $957m Central Corridor light-rail transit (CCLRT) project in Minnesota, US.
The Metropolitan Council in the city of St Paul awarded the contract, which is part of the 11-mile CCLRT line.
The contract includes retrofitting the building which will house a rail operations control centre and a shop floor for performing maintenance of light rail vehicles.
The scope of the work includes the construction of track for storage and infrastructure to support systems facilities such as duct banks, overhead contact system foundations and traction power site work.
Service will begin on the corridor by 2014.
