China has entered into agreements with Laos and Thailand to build a high-speed railway connecting China with the two South East Asian countries.
Laos will set up a joint venture company to begin construction of the railway next year between the cities of Vientiane, Laos and Beijing.
Construction on the Vientiane–Beijing railway will begin in 2011 and is expected to be complete by 2015, according to globaltimes.cn.
China's high-speed rail network covers over 7,531km and the country is expected to have 13,000km of operational high-speed railways by 2012.
