German national rail carrier Deutsche Bahn is set to sell its subsidiary Arriva Deutschland to Italian train operator Trenitalia for €170m ($225.4m).

French rail operator Veolia was another reported bidder for Arriva Deutschland, which operates regional rail and bus networks in Germany.
