Peab Wins Rail Project in Sweden

03 December 2010

The Swedish Transport Administration has selected Nordic construction firm Peab to carry out two projects worth SEK177m ($25m) at a double track railway built between central Södertälje and the port of Södertälje.

The first contract involves rebuilding the station area at the port, with a new pedestrian tunnel and new platforms.

The other project includes the construction of three single-track bridges with adjacent retaining walls.

The work is being carried out to increase the punctuality and accessibility of trains across Sodertalje.

Work will begin immediately and is expected to be complete by 2013.
