NRW in Negotiations for Australian Rail Project

25 November 2010

Civil contractor NRW Holdings is negotiating with Fortescue Metals Group for the duplication of Fortescue's 120km existing main line in Australia.

It also includes the construction of a 130km spur line to Solomon, an upgrade of the existing signalling system, the construction of four new bridges and the completion of two rail loops at the port.

Earth works for the main line duplication will begin in early 2011.

NRW said that construction on certain parts of the rail track is subject to approvals, which are expected in 2011.
