Bombardier Transportation has won a €200m ($271m) order for the supply of 51 TALENT 2 trains to Germany’s Deutsche Bahn (DB).
The 36 three-car and 15 four-car TALENT 2 suburban trains are expected to enter service in December 2013 on the Central German suburban network in Leipzig.
The trains are equipped with air-conditioning, sliding steps, wheelchair, pram and bicycle access, integrated travel signage monitors, as well as video monitoring and the latest crash requirements.
The order brings the total number of TALENT 2 trains ordered by DB to 287.
In August, DB ordered 23 five-car trains for service on the Warnow network and 37 trains for the Werdenfels railway in Bavaria.
