About 480 train drivers from Arriva Trains Wales (ATW) belonging to Britain's ASLEF union have voted in favour of strike action in a row over pay.
The union said the strike action is planned for the 19th, 26th and 27th of November, with other dates planned but not yet announced.
The strikes on the 19th and 27th will coincide with Wales' rugby tests with Fiji and New Zealand at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
ASLEF said the train company's failure to provide a satisfactory pay offer is not acceptable to its ATW members, who have seen their salaries fall behind train drivers in the rest of the industry.
A further meeting has been arranged between the union and the company in a bid to avoid strike action.
