Texmaco Rail & Engineering will partner with Bombardier Transportation India to form a consortium to submit a joint bid to the Indian Railways for the manufacture of electric locomotives.
The consortium will jointly bid to supply 800 electric locomotives of 12000 HP twin Bo-Bo configuration over a period of 11 years.
The order also includes maintaining the locomotives for 15 years.
